The Unexpected Healer: How Tech Entrepreneur Albert Chen is Revolutionizing Energy Healing

A skeptical tech founder’s journey from debilitating back pain to pioneering bioelectric healing techniques that work whether you believe in them or not.

By Kym McNicholas, Co-host of The Heart of Innovation

Have you ever experienced an injury or chronic pain that conventional medicine couldn’t fix? If so, you’re not alone. Millions suffer from persistent issues that don’t respond to traditional treatments. But what if there was another approach — one that merges ancient practices with modern understanding of the body’s electrical system?

When Skepticism Meets Healing Energy

Two years ago, I was at The Modernist, a membership-only club in San Francisco, struggling with an injury in my right hand that had persisted for years. That’s when I met Albert Chen, a successful tech entrepreneur who noticed my discomfort and offered something unexpected: “Can I take your hand and share some healing energy?”

What happened next genuinely shocked me. After just 30 minutes, I felt significant relief from an injury that had troubled me for years. The experience was so profound that I had to invite Albert onto our show to share his remarkable story and approach with our audience.

From Silicon Valley to Energy Healing: Albert’s Journey

Albert Chen isn’t your typical energy healer. With a background in complex network systems, optical routing networks, and tech entrepreneurship, he’s about as far from “woo-woo” as you can get. In fact, as he told us during our interview, “I am probably the biggest skeptic of this entire world of things that I’m kind of involved with.”

His journey into bioelectric healing began nearly 30 years ago after a gym accident left him with a herniated disc and debilitating sciatica. For four years, he tried everything conventional medicine offered, but nothing provided relief. Then came the turning point:

“I ended up getting introduced to this guy in China, who the description of it was that this guy can move things around your body without touching you,” Albert explained. “I thought that was just unbelievable, not something I believed in.”

But when this healer placed his hand six inches behind Albert’s lower back, something extraordinary happened. Within seconds, Albert felt a “bioelectrical pulse” move down his back, around his hip, and down his leg. Twenty minutes later, his pain level dropped from an eight to zero — after four years of constant suffering.

The Science Behind Bioelectric Energy

What makes Albert’s approach fascinating is his relentless pursuit to understand the science behind energy healing. For 17 years, he studied with his healer in China, researched other healers, and worked to reverse-engineer the technique that had helped him.

The training method he developed is surprisingly straightforward — it involves holding a specific squat position daily for extended periods (ideally an hour) while relaxing and allowing energy to build in the hands. This practice generates what Albert calls a “bioelectrical output” that can be directed toward healing others.

“The things that we do and the things that are kind of treatment, it doesn’t require anyone to kind of believe or not believe in the energy healing,” Albert emphasized. “It works regardless of whether you believe it or not.”

During our interview, Albert demonstrated this energy transfer remotely — and to my surprise, I could actually feel it. When he directed energy toward my hands via our video call, I felt a distinct tingling and pulsing sensation. Dr. John Phillips, who was also part of our conversation, had a similar experience, describing it as “feeling like a shock.”

Beyond Individual Healing: Albert’s Three-Part Mission

Albert’s vision extends far beyond individual healing sessions. He’s building a three-pronged approach to bring bioelectric healing to the world:

  1. BIOS Vitalium - A healer co-op where people can purchase healing credits (called Vitalium) to receive treatments. What’s unique about this model is that credits are only transferred based on successful outcomes.

  2. Biosingularity Institute - A nonprofit dedicated to studying healing outcomes through longitudinal research, collecting case records, and analyzing what works, for whom, and for how long.

  3. BioDaVinci - A scientific company where Albert serves as chairman, working with researchers to reverse-engineer the bioelectric effect. They’re focusing on ion channel drug development using AI to map the body’s electrical system and its relationship to biological functions.

“Our goal there is to actually understand through the science of how bioelectricity works in the body,” Albert explained.

Can Anyone Learn Bioelectric Healing?

Perhaps most intriguing is Albert’s assertion that approximately 80% of people can be trained in this healing technique. According to him, it’s not an inborn talent but a trainable skill—though some people pick it up more quickly than others.

“The longer you hold the squat with your thighs, by putting pressure on your thighs here to here, and pulling your diaphragm in and up, and squeezing your butt, that feeling in your hands will start growing and becoming stronger and stronger,” Albert demonstrated (Tune into segment 4 of the show embedded above for the demo).

With dedicated training, Albert says he can now develop a new healer in just 90 days—a process that took him 17 years to figure out.

Looking Forward: The Future of Energy Healing

Albert’s work represents a fascinating intersection of ancient practices and modern science. By bringing rigorous investigation, technological innovation, and entrepreneurial thinking to energy healing, he’s creating pathways for these techniques to become more accessible and better understood.

For those interested in learning more or experiencing Albert’s healing approach, you can visit biosvitalium.com or download the BIOS Vitalium app on the App Store (coming soon to Google Play).

As someone who experienced the effectiveness of Albert’s healing firsthand, I’m excited to see how his work develops. In a world where chronic health issues continue to challenge conventional medicine, approaches like Albert’s offer intriguing possibilities for complementary care.
